Data Deletion

How to disconnect a platform, delete your account, and confirm your data is gone.

Last updated: 26 September 2026

Overview #

You can remove your data from Social8 in three ways: disconnect a single connected platform, delete your Social8 account entirely, or ask a connected platform (such as Meta) to notify us directly that you have removed Social8's access. This page covers all three, and explains what is deleted and how long it takes.

Disconnect a single platform #

From your Social8 account, open the connected platform (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, or Bluesky) and choose to disconnect it. This immediately deletes the access token and any platform-specific credentials Social8 stored for that connection. Content already published to that platform is not removed by disconnecting; you would need to remove it on the platform itself.

Delete your Social8 account #

Sign in and open your Account page, where you can delete your account and all associated data. If you cannot sign in, email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will process the deletion for you.

Remove Social8 from Facebook #

To remove Social8's access from your Facebook account directly: open Facebook, then go to Settings & privacy > Settings > Apps and websites, find Social8 in the list, and remove it. This revokes Social8's access token on Facebook's side; we also recommend disconnecting the Page inside Social8 or deleting your account so our records are updated too.

Remove Social8 from other platforms #

  • Google (Sign in, YouTube, Google Business Profile): Google's third-party access settings.
  • Apple (Sign in with Apple): appleid.apple.com under Sign-In and Security > Apps Using Apple ID.
  • LinkedIn: Settings & Privacy > Data privacy > Other applications.
  • X: Settings and privacy > Security and account access > Apps and sessions > Connected apps.
  • TikTok: Settings and privacy > Security and permissions > Manage app permissions.
  • Pinterest: Settings > Security > Apps.
  • Bluesky: Settings > App Passwords, then delete the app password used for Social8.

What gets deleted, and when #

  • Disconnecting a platform deletes its stored access token and connection details immediately.
  • Deleting your account deletes your account record, connected-platform tokens, and stored content within 30 days, with copies in backups purged within 90 days.
  • Content already published to a platform before disconnection or deletion is not retroactively removed from that platform.
  • We may keep a minimal record that a deletion request was made (for example, the confirmation code and status described below) for as long as reasonably needed for compliance, even after the underlying data is deleted.

Meta's automated deletion callback #

Social8 also supports Meta's Data Deletion Request Callback. If you remove Social8 from your Facebook or Instagram settings, Meta may automatically notify Social8, which creates a deletion record, deletes any Social8 data tied to that Meta account, and gives you a confirmation code and a status page so you can confirm it was processed — without you needing to do anything else.
